Lenovo ThinkPad X61s Unveiled

Lenovo has unveiled the details of its thin and light ultra-portable ThinkPad X61s notebook, based on Intel “Santa Rosa” mobile platform and Intel’s low-voltage Core 2 Duo processor.

Lenovo ThinkPad X61s (slim), which comes with Core 2 Duo L7300 or L7500, is thinner and lighter version of the ThinkPad X61, powered by “full-voltage” T7100, T7300, and T7500. Both notebooks are built upon “Santa Rosa’s” Mobile Intel GM965 Express chipset. The integrated Graphics Media Accelerator X3100 manages notebook’s 12-inch XGA (non-widescreen) display with 1024-by-768 resolution. The X61s supports up to 4GB of DDR2 main memory and comes with up to 160GB SATA hard drive, while for enhanced hard drive performance, the X61s incorporates Intel Turbo memory 1 GB card. This ultra-portable system has a built in optical drive.
